first race-update

There are two main routes. Most of the riders aimed for Checkpoint Kamor first. The rest is heading the longer way to Checkpoint Bischofalp. One of these riders is Ben Koch (2nd place at Badlands) who is riding at a furious pace and with a very lightweight setup towards Elm.
At Kamor there was leader group of five riders. Luca Widmer, Lorenz Inauen (local from Appenzell – riding in his backyard), Thomas Schlatter, Raphael Ottiger and Lucas Rüesch.
In the womens race Alessia Sträuli was first to reach Kamor (9th overall!) and is already back down in the Rhyne valley. Next up at Kamor were Franziska Schöni, Sibylle Mumenthaler and Gabriella Antal!

Rain is gone and first glimpses of blue sky are out. From now on we don’t expect any more rain and a beautiful sunny (and hot) weekend!!

Check-in

ready for cake…

Freitag, 23. JUNI 2023 6 Uhr – Gallusplatz St.Gallen

That’s a wrap

All riders are back in St.Gallen and we enjoy the stories at the campfire…

Hike a Bike

Hike-a-Bike – the art of carrying your bike over hiking paths. Today (with perfect weather) many riders chose to walk the direct connection between Safiental and Alp Nurdagn. A very demanding hike of 4-6 hours, with a bike on you back. They have been prepared and brought equipment and shoes to cross safely. And wow – what views up there…
And no – this shortcut is not faster!

One hell of a ride! So many wet and cold hours but rewarded with a sunny and warm last stretch to the finishline!

REMO WILD

Started as a pair with Marc Egger. Sadly Marc had a crash at Alp Nurdagn and had to scratch with a broken hand. Kudos to Remo for a strong solo finish and of course all the best to Marc who is now on his way back to the finishline. Cold beer and cake are known to heal broken hands and hearts!
