five dead ends – five cakes
All checkpoints are dead ends. Located at some of the most beautiful, remote places of eastern Switzerland. Start and finish in St. Gallen.
People try to avoid dead end roads. And that’s why they are so special! Small rugged roads, roughly carved into the mountains will lead you to the very end of a valley or to the top of an alp. The only reason to go there are stunning sceneries and amazing landscapes! That’s why there’s almost no traffic. Just you and the mountains.

Find your own way! All checkpoints are mandatory – but you choose the order and your best route. Try to create a fast, a versatile or the most spectacular route – it’s up to you.
As in real life – our dead ends aren’t the end of the world. If you don’t mind some offroad or hike-a-bike action – there will be a way at the end of the road.
cake! a lot of cake!
Cycling without cake is no fun and just doesn’t make any sense to us. That’s why we will welcome you at every checkpoint with fresh cake! Eager to hear your stories from the road.
Because every bikepacker is a happier bikepacker when fueled by cake!
non-stop: day and night
Go sleep under the stars, pack your tent and enjoy the campfire or rest well and take a nap at guesthouses or hotels.
We recommend to ride through the night! The nights are short by end of june and we will start just one day after full moon! Enjoy the empty roads, the silence, the animals and the pure joy of riding into sunrise! Night rides are something very special!

Tent, bivy bag or just push through the night? Romantic campfire cooking, restaurants or a quick raid at a gas station? Choose whatever fits you most and enjoy your time outthere!
